Where the Wild Things Grow

  • Blind Insect Gallery 2841 Northeast Alberta Street Portland, OR, 97211 United States (map)

Blind Insect Gallery presents Where the Wild Things Grow, featuring artwork by Portland based artist Shannon Amidon.

You can now see all of the artwork including a gallery walk through online at: https://www.shannonamidon.com/blog/where-the-wild-things-grow

Luminescent, richly layered and detailed encaustic (molten beeswax) paintings honor untamed landscapes and strive to bring focus to the importance of habitat conservation. Never before have we seen such an alarming decline in biodiversity on our planet. There are fewer and fewer places left on earth that have remained untouched and unharmed by humans.

Amidon’s paintings of wild plants, grasses and trees remind us of the beauty and wonder of nature and that by conserving and protecting these habitats, we are ensuring that future generations can enjoy our natural world and the incredible species that live within it.

In addition to original paintings Shannon will also have a limited number of smaller, original cyanotypes available featuring wild flowers and plants.
